Hi Balaji
Yes u can, for that u should have your file in application server i.e AL11, select client workstation and path of the file then load.

Hi Balaji,
You can upload the data from App. Sever, but you need to maintain communication Structure for each info object exactly should to match the position of same info object in that file...then you can upload it. Hope you cant access the others systems application server because when you are opening a flat file its automatically takes your application server only

If you want to access the other system application server then you need make RFC settings contact to your basis team
If you want to See your data T.code is AL11

Hi
Phani
I did'nt get your words like "but you need to maintain <b>communication Structure for each info object exactly should to match the position of same info object in that file...then you can upload it</b>. Hope you cant access the others systems application server because when you are opening a flat file its automatically takes your application server only
Can u explain me with an example. Can u give me step by step what to do.
Think like data is available in developers hard disk(<b>not in Application server its client server</b>)But the <b>selection has taken as Application server</b>,now I want to schedule either immediate or in background?
For this can u tell me, how to do it?
regards
balaji
hi balaji,
not sure if can do it,
i think you may try ask basis to set a folder in server e.g DIR_CLIENT and do mapping network drive to your client folder e.g
balajipc\bwdata where balajipc is your client computer name and the folder shared.
when the option set to application server, it will always ask for server folder either with AL11 or logical path name.
Hi Balaji,
Sorry I think that you are extracting the data from application server. If you want to extract the data from developer system (another system) then you go to -> network from there find the system and select your appropriate file from his hard disk and schedule it.

Phani

Hi Balaji,
Yes you can, provided the Aplication server settings are created in your BW System by BASIS. Just check if you can see the contents in preview. If so, then you can load it.
Bye
