Hello,
Business Objects BI 4.1 on Windows 7, with IDT (Information Designer tool ) on client PC
I have spent couple of days in trying to sort out a Universe connection to a PostgreSQL 9.3 database.
I have followed the dataaccess document and lots of other examples but I seem to be getting the following error :
Java Class not found in classpath : org.postgresql.Driver
I have
1. Downloaded the .jar file from PostgreS and put it in the necessary path.
2. I have put in the <ClassPath> information in the .SBO file
3. I have tried this in the jdbc.sbo file and GreenPlum.sbo file but no luck
Any one out there can you advise on the steps
Thanks
Sanjay
Are you creating the connection in your local machine or on the server (Bottom of IDT screen where repositories shows)?

Hi jawahar.
I have now successfully been able to create a Local and Secured connection in IDT for a JDBC connection to PostgresSQL database.
1. Locally, after setting up the .sbo and the jar files, I needed to restart the PC.
2. For Secured again similarly, After setting up the greenplum.sbo and the relevant Jar file, I had to restart the Server Intelligence Agent. Then create a secured connection.
The testing of connection passed at the IDT level
To test overall,
3. publish the universe to the repository.
4. Create a report on the universe using Webi Rich Clinet (Desktop tool ) - This works fine
5. Create a report via Launch pad and This works.
Thanks for your help any way !
Sanjay
