Compare sales value in 2005 and 2006

Hi All,

I have to create a report which compare the sales value for each of day in 2005 and 2006.

for example, today is 5 Jan 2006, so in the report, i need to have sales values for 1,2,3,4,5 of Jan 2006 and 2005 data.

I am thinking of creating a variable in the include ZXRSRU01, which come out only with the 'monthday' info,based on the current system date; and then I restricted the Key figure(sales value) with this variable and year 2005 or 2006 in Bex.

Do you think it will works, and what would be the code for this variable?
