AL11 output length more than 512!!

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to know is there anyway with which we can increase width of AL11 output as it is restricted upto 512 characters?

Please let me know with your answers.

Hi,

it is a fix length in the report:

You can try to modify both values up to 1023. But maybe there will be more places, which need to be changed after these modifications.

please read the following SAP notes:

• 952766  - AL11 corrections and improvements
• 1898998  - Improvements in transaction AL11
• 1988147 - Files Downloaded from AL11 are Truncated after 512 characters

That doesn't sound goof, if you have not SAP Rels. 731 or 740.

But how SAP increased AL11 output from 320 to 512 you can read in the Correction Instruction of SAP note

966835 - Line length extended to 512 characters in AL11 display

Hi Praveen,

those notes can't be implemented in your system, but the informations they give are relevant for all systems.

The correction instruction of note 966835 tells you, what code parts SAP has changed to increase output from 320 to 512. Same parts might be modified to increase output up to 1023.

Notes 1898998 and 1988147 are dealing the AL11 download issue and are telling, that there is only a solution for this issue in SAP Releases 731 and 740.

Do not only download notes in SNOTE and check, if you can install them. There are many SAP notes for information purpose only. SAP note 1988147 for example is a SAP Knowledge Base Article without any Correction Instruction. It can't be installed, it has to be read.

I saw correction instructions of SAP note - 966835 which is relevant for AL11 display as per  issue. Note - 1988147 is related to download data from AL11.
