can PI send the data x MB of data ?

Hi Experts

I have a scenerio from RFC...>PI....>WS

where RFC is sending bulk amount of data, i.e. 10 MB of data at 1 shot

can it be handled by SAP PI.

or should i go with this approach

RFC...>PI.....>FILE?

Thanks!

    Hi Nunu,

You can use an ABAP proxy instead of an RFC in the sender, you can have better performance. If your scenario is asynchronous and you have deactivated the logs the performance should not be affected with 10 Mb messages. However, if the number of messages is massive you should consider to execute the scenario in the hours when you have less load in the system.

If you notice problems with the performance in your tests, you can also think to use a file to file scenario without ESR develeopment, this is the faster way.

    Regards.

    Hi Nunu,

PI can handle 10 MB of data easily. Its mostly depends upon your  scenario example if you having conversions like FCC , MTB or  using any look ups or any adapter module then some time it maycauses some issue .

But if scenario is straight forward then it will be handled easily with PI.

    Hi Nunu,

    What is the PI version?

It depends on your system resources/hardware and configuration, the number of messages that are getting executed simultaneously for other scenarios / Interfaces and the frequency of the same.

Please check the following for some info on this:

Message size as source of performance bottleneck

    Hope it helps
