CBTA background scheduling - error

Hi,

I'm having trouble with background scheduling of test cases.

The test case was prepared with CBTA; executing the test manually is perfect.  When I schedule the same test in foreground (through the tester work-list in the test management workcentre) the test also runs perfectly.  When I schedule the same test in background it always fails to complete. The log shows "Error During Method Call in Scripting Host" with no indication as to what the error might be.  I can see that the target host is being contacted (ST01).

Does anyone have any ideas where to start looking ?

Ahhh!  Never mind.  Note 1835958 tells me all I need to know.  I'm using CBTA, so background is verboten !

How do I schedule to run my test scripts using STPFE? Is there anything else I need to do? I have my scripts running well in SOLMAN. What are my next steps to run them on a schedule?

You can schedule a test run either through the test workbench or through the testing work centre.  In either case, you must pay attention to the notes displayed  on the dialog below.  In particular, execute in foreground (as strange as that may seem) and ensure that STPFE is running with the user activated.

Hi,

I am working with CBTA and have recorded few Test Scripts. These Test scripts are executed successfully.

SolMan 7.1 SP12 (CBTA setup is done and all the prerequisite are in place as per the setup guide and compatibility matrix)

Now, when I try to schedule the CBTA Test Scripts from Tester Worklist using Foreground Scheduler, I am getting an error.

I have activated forground scheduler from transaction code STPFE for my user id however the scheduled job is not found here !

When I checked the job log for RSTWB_BATCH_EXECUTE job it gives below information:

RFC Destination <solman SID>CLNT<number>_LOGIN name or password is incorrect.

Hence the job is finished immediately and I am unable to schedule Test Script execution in foreground.

Anything with "SAPGUI Scripting" can NOT executed in backend/background execution, because SAPGUI is present at the frontend not in the backend.

You have to use foreground scheduling with transaction STPFE.
