Hi All,
Recently My Development server got down due to indexing files are created around 40 to 60 GB due that my DEV server (BO4.0 version) was running with out space then i went deleted files then started SIA it was working fine, this is not clustered environment (installed app and wen server in one box) and MY QA server is Clustered environment , we haven't seen any issues like this , i just want to know main difference also .
I want to know what is application search
how the index work and why the index filers are creating that much big files in index folder.
Could you please help me any one.

How the Platform Search application indexing work in Cluster and Non Cluster environments.
Currently i am facing issue in DEV ENV(Installed both app and web servers in same box) and my QA is Cluster environment. why it is giving issue in DEV alone not in QA.
Can any one give me the major diference between Cluster Environmnts and Non Cluster environments.

Platform search will work similar fashion in Clustered environment. There is conceptually no difference in the way Indexing works in Clustered and non clustered environments. viz. Masters index, content store and surrogate files will be put in same locations.

Hi,
the indexing needs to be configured correctly. Please note that the Search function has massivley improved with SAP BI 4.1. Maybe you should go for an Update.
Please note that SAP BI 4.0 will go out of mainstream maintenance support on 12/31/2015.
