Why are the current text box cleared if you leave the browser page?

We have poor users that have written long texts and then left the browser page (with the cursor still in the text box with the long text)

When returning to the browser page the text is gone. The work around - if remembered is to place the cursor in another control before leaving the page

As we build a logbook system where we encourage people to write a lot this is a bigger issue

Seems like a UI5 bug?

(We have tried to capture the event and by code place the cursor some where else if the page is left - improves but not fully)

Is this a known phenomena?

Kr,

Sonny

    What do you mean with leaving the browser page?

    => Closing the browser window

    => Going to another page and come back

    => Or really just switch to another window and then back?

    I don't have this phenomena, maybe you can simulate this at JS Bin, so I can analyze your code.

      Are you binding to a model? Looks like in your example you are updating the value on the control.

      Also a minor point, getElementById is deprecated, you should use the byId method instead.
