Whether SAP charges for SSO

Dear All,

We are planning to enable SSO for our SAP systems (R/3, Portal, Solman) with windows AD. Do anyone let us know if SAP charges license cost for This. As per our understanding it should not charge any cost as we are using AD and SAP functionalities and not any add-ons or additional tools.

Appreciated your valuable inputs in this regard.

Thanks,

Satyabrat

Hello Satyabrata,

If you want to implement Single Sign-On using Kerberos/SPNEGO for Application Server ABAP, you can use the SAP Single Sign-On product (license required). Please, find the details in the documentation, see:

It is also possible to use a third party (form an SAP partner and SAP certified) product for Kerberos/SPNEGO on AS ABAP.

Hello Donka,

Thanks for the helpful details. I would like to know if is there any other way I can configure SSO between Windows and SAP ABAP or Solman systems with out any additional cost.

Thanks

Hello Satyabrata,

One of our customer is using netweaver SSO product and they paid for the license.

But as far as i know there is no license for standard SSO configurations.

What did you mean by "standard SSO configurations" ? There are certain capabilities in SAP products that allow SSO, and don't require a license. For example, SPNEGO on NetWeaver AS for Java doesn't require any SSO product license.
