Hi All,
We have added two columns to a cluster table, BSEG in ECC. Would like to know as to how can this be replicated to HANA in a side car scenario ?
We are using SLT for replication of Data to HANA.
Thanks Much,
Abhishek
Hi,
The issue was while SLT was replicating data of a cluster table BSEG, the structure was appended and the replication stopped.
The issue was resolved by adding manually the columns in HANA. Addition needs stop and start of SLT.
Here as said the version of SLT is very important to support such a feature.
Thanks Much,
Abhishek

Abhishek,
When you said "sidecar" I thought you meant using ABAP reports in SAP but pointing to HANA as backend instead of SAP (ie: oracle backend). Can you please clarify if this is what you are doing?
Thanks,

Never mind I just talked to our ABAP programmer whom had this to say below so I have to eat crow so to speak;
We initially faced an ABAP limitation that doesn't allow an external data source with a cluster table. However, this is no longer a limitation because it can be coded around by constructing the query as a string rather than as an ABAP command.

PS: Hi Justin
My understanding is you can not user cluster tables in HANA abap sidecar scenarios. Can somebody correct me if I am wrong?

SLT will decluster this one the fly, I have a client using BSEG, KONV etc with no issue.
I wasn't clear on the original question however, do you already have SLT replicating BSEG and then the structure was changed and you are wanting to know the impact? Or are you referring to a new scenario where you want to start replication?
With the proper SP levels on SLT, both scenarios are supported.

Justin
