Hi Experts,
Does control file or similar to control file exists in DB2 LUW as in oracle?
If not, how DB2 reads its files (container, logfiles, etc) location during db2start?
If any container file gets corrupted at OS level, giving Disk I/O error. will DB2 start?
Regards,
Bhishm
Hello Bhishm,
There is no central 'control file' existing in IBM DB2 on LUW.
It has separate files which stores relevant information. e.g. log control file, history file and etc.
It depends. In some cases, DB will shutdown only when it accesses the corrupted page. In some cases, DB can't be brought up due to the corruption during the crash recovery. There are other various cases.
Regards
Maria
