block Serial Number updation

Dear All,

how to write stored procedure for Serial number updation  in serial number selection criteria in SAP.

Basically I want the system to block the user to update a serial no. that has all ready exists in the database .

Kindly help on this issue .

Please refer thread for batch number. Try to modify for serial number.
