Change User Store to LDAP (Active Directory)

HI All,

I would like to ask a question about JDI installation.

My goal is to install a JDI environment and use the company Active Directory as the user store.

Since for NetWeaver 2004s installation, there is no choice to use LDAP as the user data store, I have to change it manually after NW2004s installed. So I have a questions when JDI related UME actions created, like CBS.Developer, if I change the user store to LDAP, I have to create those bunch of UME actions manually?

Thanks,

Kelvin

I believe it's not necessary. The J2EE Engine can examine both stores and can thus still access the JDI roles. You can even assign AD users to the JDI roles.

Thanks for answer.

After some search, in other words I can say that UME actions are stored in SAP DB (like SQL Server or MaxDB) and user information, like users, roles and groups are stored in UME repository (either, ABAB, SAP DB or LDAP). What I need to do for switch of user store is to define role/group assignment, and assign appropriate action to roles, am I right?

THanks, Kelvin

Yes, you are correct.

Hi KL,

When you use LDAP as user store it will not affect the operations of UME. You can still have users in UME and use the corresponding roles and actions available in UME.

Its like union of LDAP and UME. You can assign LDAP users to any of UME roles and actions.

I don't want to be offensive, but do you read other people's answers before you post? (This is not the first time that you post a reply that has already been made by someone else in other words).
