Dear Experts,
we are planing to build the replica of production system which is PI (SAP netweaver 2004s) for this i need to use sapinst or swpm...?
PI system is deployed on windows and database is MSSQL, If we need to use sapinst or swpm where we need to download from market place..?
Please explain me dual stack system copy precss.

* Please make sure that you've stopped all your communication channels when you take system copy. If you don't then all your channels will be started automatically and production data may flow in new environment when you restore.

would suggest you to do with SWPM. also check the below link

Best suggestion as mark said try with your DEV and QA system first and then move to PRD system.

Hello Hanuman,
In addition, I would recommend that you first do a trial copy of a Dev/QA system, so you are fully familiar with the system copy process. The copy process is fairly complex and there are manual steps required post copy. Doing it for the first time directly on Production could lead to problems. Best to encounter these in a Dev/QA box first!

And what is database-specific methods and database-independent methods.
