Effect of Replication of DataSource on Delta mechanism

Hi All,

Datasource 0UC_SALES_STATS has one custom field and we would like to change the description of that field.

This will change the append structure and so extract structure.

To get this description in BW, we need to replicate the Datasource.

Now since this datasource is productive in production system and bringing delta, want to what will be effect on delta load?

Will need to perform init again? or we can run delta as normal?

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Swati,

If its LO Datasource then See to it that RSA7 and LBWQ is cleared and the there are no transactions in the ECC Sytem..Move the TRs and then replicate the Datasource..this would be a smooth Transistion for newly added fields.

Hi swathi,

.as it is the change in descrition of custom field idelally the delat pointer should not disturb as there is no change are addition in structure of datasource.But ensure that you run deltas until rsa7 queue data is zero and is loaded into bw before moving the transport to production.

if you still have doubt you test this change in QA environment .Ideally how it behaves in QA similarly it should work in prod As well.

Hi Swati,

Delta pointer will won't be disturbed.

Need to handle transports properly. Other wise it may corrupt.

if its corruopted then we need to do the reinit.
