Hi,
we have created a custom process chain which is executed through DM, so a simple scenario. My question now, is it possible to display the process chain log in the formula log? So, in case my BW process chain fails and returns and error message why it failed, I would like to see the error message in the formula log.
Thanks,
Tim
Hi Tim,
What is the functionality of your custom chain?

Hi Vadim,
PC is tranferring data from BPC to BW. I was thinking of putting just one ABAP process type at the beginning of the PC and do some checks there. In case checks fail, I would cancel the process chain and it should write the reason for the cancellation back to the formula log. Is that possible? If I create any error message in the ABAP process type, it writes it nicely to the PC log but it is not visible in the formula log.
Thanks,
Tim
Hi Tim,
There is a big difference between BPC Process Chain and BW Process Chain (PC). It's based on the fact that in BW PC you hard code all the parameters, in BPC PC they are usually entered by the user and passed to processes.
So, first you have to decide which PC you need. If you decide that you need a BPC PC then please read a How To ... Guide what process types and methods should be there. Even though it was written for 7.x it didn't change in 10.x. This will give you an idea how to post your messages.
Regards,
Gersh
