Hi Niladri,

After selecting Friday, please select the text by clicking multiple box item in the space provided for Friday. The rules for guaranteed are defined there.

You can go through the below link for more information on this functionality.

I hope this resolves your issue.

Thanks and regards,

Hi Vivek,

If we select Move to next/previous day, does that mean monday/thursday will be a holiday?

Conceptually it seems wrong

Hi Niladri,

Move to previous day or next day means that suppose holiday falls on sunday and if you will select the next day then it will go to monday or saturday as a off.

Hi Niladri,

The concept of guaranteed public holiday is that if a public holiday falls on a OFF day, it is moved to next/previous day to ensure that the holiday falls on a working day.

For Middle East, Friday is an OFF day. Hence, if a public holiday is falling on Friday, they move it to Thursday or Saturday so that the public holiday doesn't get lost.

Please go through my document and it will make things more clear.

I hope this resolves your issue.

Thanks and regards,

Hi Niladri

The purpose of the weekday radio buttons in the Guaranteed section is to ensure that if the public holiday falls on that day of the week then what should the system do? Should it move the holiday to the previous day or subsequent day.

From your query it seems that you are selecting the Friday radio button to ensure that the holiday is on Friday. However, this understanding is not correct. All you need to do is to give the date correctly for the Good Friday and that would be enough for it to fall on Friday itself.

Also, in my opinion, instead of creating a fixed date holiday as you are creating it now, you should create it as a floating holiday and keep appending the date for every year in it. This would prevent multiple entries being created for the same holiday every year.

Thanks Vivek/Shruti/Shankarsan for clarifying.

In Indian scenerios we don't have such moved to next/previous holiday concept.

In this scenario , I will go with Shruti's suggestion and change Good Friday to Floating holiday instead of fixed day.

Initially I thought Good Friday always fall on Friday, so I kept it under Guaranteed Friday.

Thanks Shruti for identifying my misconception

Niladri
