Purchase order delivery address based on Sloc & Supplier

Hi All,

Good day and happy new year .....!

Well I have a requirement which I am trying to find out the possibility with standard approach.

We need the PO to have delivery address from a storage location based on supplier.

As of now in our PO output program we have a code which looks for Storage Location on a line item and fetches address from that for delivery (yes we always create PO on a single sloc)

Now the requirement came up to have different address on PO but based on Sloc and Supplier, is it possible to maintain such a level of multiple address on storage location by supplier.

Example for the requirement is: We have a storage location which is a physical location say a building (we already had enough sloc we cannot go further detail of 1 sloc for floor or room), now if the supplier is of a stationary provider we want goods to be delivered to front door, if its food we need it to be delivered at back door where we have kitchen &/ Pantry, these sort of stuff.

One simple approach I think of is to have a ZTABLE as a maintenance view where this address by combo is maintained and the custom code is tweaked to look up and pick it from here.

But as stated I am looking for any standard SAP maintenance approach like multiple address on Sloc or may be using class characteristics on Sloc sort of.

Thanks in advance,

Sai

    There is nothing in MM

It is certainly a very special design that a storage location or an level which does not even exist in a enterprise structure is determined by vendor

Why don't you just use a long text in the vendor master to tell the vendor if he has to come through the back door, this is vendor specific

      Hey Mate,

      Thanks for your reply.

Well we cannot maintain it in the vendor master because if we purchase from this supplier for a different location we may or may not have special instructions and one more info is that these Purchase orders are interfaced from legacy systems.

      Thanks,

This is something I have not implemented myself but is it not possible to multiple addresses for each storage location in configuration for enterprise structure for MM?

Your custom print program could then select the most appropriate address based on your own logic

    Hi,

If the address is to be populated with respect to vendor and storage location maintained in the PO, then you may check the feasibility of development. As you already mentioned, a Ztable with the combination of storage location, vendor and address details and populate the same in the PO - delivery address tab.

    Hi,

If I am not wrong, you are choosing delivery address based on the nature of goods but not vendor and Sloc, since your vendor and Sloc remains the same but you would want the different delivery address based on the materials. Should not be your criteria based on materials instead of vendor and Sloc?

Second case, if your supplier varies based on different materials then probably ztable would be the option.

      Hi Jaydip,

      Its certainly based on supplier.

      1) we categorize suppliers by Primary Industry already.

      2) For example we know Amul always provides Milk Products and Camel always provide Stationary.

Further example to the scenario is consider a school, if we buy from Amul we want them to be delivered to a Fridge in Room 17, if its a stationary from Camel we want that to be delivered to a store room.

In the same case if we buy Products from Amul to a cafeteria we want that to be delivered to Freezer room but if its Coffee from HLL we want that to be delivered to stock room or reception.

At this point if we need only 20 / existing 4000 locations we might end up creating few more slocs to suffice it.

If its anymore we might end up creating a Z table depends on Time & Money 😊

      Thanks,

      Sai
