    Hi Jorge,

Is it just the SAPLogon window that closes, leaving you still able to work in SAPGUI, or does the whole thing shut down?

I'm not certain, but I think RC=35 means that the folder doesn't exist. So, it would seem that somewhere in the configuration of your SAPGUI it's trying to write something, either a status or trace file, or temporary file, but the folder it's configured to use has been deleted, or perhaps never existed. Or, possibly, you don't have permissions to the folder in question.

Is this in Windows? Or a different OS?

    Regards,

    Matt

    • Ok. Do you have full administrator rights to the PC? Are you a member of the local Administrators group? If not, I think it would be worth an experiment to try installing and running the GUI using an account that is a local administrator.

How are you installing/distributing the SAPGUI? Are you using an Installation Server, or are you installing from CD or downloaded files manually on each PC?

It may be also worthwhile to ensure you are capturing all the various trace files possible (potentially Session Traces as well as SAP GUI Traces and SAP Logon Traces), and look for more clues as to which folder the program is trying to access at the moment it crashes.

Finally, if you haven't done so already, have a look at Notes 2002879 (How to check SAP GUI disappear / crash / hang issue) and 1053736 (Dealing with problems when creating the exception trace), as they may have helpful suggestions.

If you are already using the latest patch (for sapsetup as well as sapgui?), you may need to open an Incident ticket with SAP Support.

      Regards,

      Matt

    Hello Jorge,

I would run a SAP Logon trace :

Open SAP Logon -> SAP Logon Options -> Traces -> SAP Logon traces.

    Click "delete all trace files".

Then activate the trace with all modes. (errors, warning,....etc)

Replicate issue and look at the traces errors.

If you cannot sort it out yourself, you need to open a ticket in BC-FES-GUI.

    kind regards,

    Eric Van de Catsije

This issue popped up when our Help Desk started using MS Office Detect & Repair. This corrupted some DLL's and SAP just didn't like it. The solution was to uninstall MS Office. Once uninstalled, the GUI started working immediately. Reboot and reinstall MS Office and all is well.
