Status READY is unknown

Hi Experts,

I have one personal data change workflow triggered in production system.

The flow is Employee -> Manager -> HR TEAM.

Manager has approved the request and then the work item has been send to HR team.

So the approval from HR services is having multiple agents.

Now the status of this work item is showing status as Reserved against one of the HR team member and they are not able to approve it.

I selected this workitem in SWIA and clicked on 'Replace Manually' button to change the status from 'Reserved' to 'Ready', so that HR team can proceed with the approval.

But I am getting an message like 'Status READY is unknown'.

Please suggest me what could be the reason.How can I proceed further to resolve this?

  Please check the workflow log, is it already executed by someone else

Hi Anjan,

Thank you for the reply.

No it is not been executed as the workflow is not completed and the change is not updated in the database.The workflow has been stuck in the HR approval process.

I am not sure, but I could not see the status of the Workflow header in your screen shots.

Will it be possible to give a screen shot of the top line of the ActiveX workflow Log as well as the Step History of the Reserved Item from the technical WF log?

Can you try forwarding this to another authorized user from SWIA?

Hi Modak,

I have selected only the work item with status RESERVED in SWIA.

Then I tried forwarding to another HR team member...still it is giving me the same message 'Status READY is unknown' and it is not allowing to forward also.

What could be the reason? Does it deals with any authorizations?

Thank you for replying.

Yes, I do have work item with status READY.I tried same thing in development and able to change the status successfully.

So on further investigation I found that it is an authorization issue.I don't have authorizations for SWIA in Production system.

But you said you were trying things in SWIA, how is that possible?

Is the problem resolved?

Hi Rick,

Yes the problem is resolved.

I was trying everything in SWIA...but I was not having enough authorizations to do replace manually or forward the workitem. Everytime it was giving the same message 'Status READY is unknown'.

After getting the authorizations I was able to forward the workitem to another user.

What was the error message before you did the "Replace"? Was it the same message?

As far as I understand you have done everything correctly. You changed the status of the work item from reserved to ready. But now my question is that are you sure that your error message is coming from the workflow? Could it somehow relate to the actual personal data change document/application?

The problem is I am not able to change the status from 'Reserved' to 'Ready'.When I click on Replace Manually button I am getting this information message that 'Status READY is unknown' and the work item still remains in the 'Reserved Status'.

Reserved means is it something like the actual agent against whom the work item is reserved can only execute this work item?

Sorry, I misunderstood you. I though the error message comes from the change status application, but it's coming when you try to replace the work item.

I have no idea what is going on. As Modak suggested, you could just try to forward the work item to some of the users who are responsible for completing the task.

For me it seems like a bug, for which you should search OSS notes.
