Cannot connect to web environment

Hi all,

When I try to connect to the web environment with my user, I receive a window where I have to choose the environment to which I want to connect. Whatever I try, I keep getting this screen back and therefore cannot connect.

I have done some debugging and some users can still connect, while others get stuck in this loop.

All users could connect before and nothing has changed to the security settings.

The only thing which I can see that is different between the users that can and cannot connect is the fact that the users who can no longer connect have a space in their active directory name.

Could this be the reason and if so how can we resolve this.

Thanks

Hi Timothy,

have you verified that the sw on the machines that doesn't work are ok for the p.a.m.? have you run the client diagnostic? try also uninstall and clean the PC_MS folder and reinstall bpc.

Roberto,

I have tried with different users on the same machine.

The same users that can connect on other machines can connect to the website, the other ones still cannot. I have tested this on many different machines and every time it is the same.

Some users can connect, others cannot, regardless of the PC, or even the security settings.

I even have one users with almost no access but he can at least connect (and see nothing), while other users get the same loop.

Luckily  we only use the web to post journals so I can use a different user for the time being, but would like to sort this out sooner rather than later.

Thanks

Timothy

Hi Timothy,

as you described it doesn't seems related to machines or security, so if you have changed the names try restarting the BPC webserver and see if works, otherwise probably the issue as you wrote is related with the space in the name in AD and I think the only solution is to change the name (try with one) without space eventually substituting it with "_".

Roberto,

We uninstalled some of the windows updates that relate to .NET framework, such as KB2858725.

It were three updates we uninstalled, and afterwards we can connect again to the system.

Not sure why the updates stopped the system from working or which specific one it was.

We will need to do some more tests but for now we can proceed with our consolidation, which is the most important thing at the  moment.

Hi Timothy,

we've had the same problem with some users and it was solved through security configuration.

You should check the security for those users and make sure they have assigned the correct task profiles and data access profiles.

Let me know if you need more information.

Kindest regards,

@Santiago

Thanks for the input but I do not see anything different between the users that can connect and that cannot.

We have not touched the security, and my user is admin but cannot connect.

Another user almost has no rights but at least he can get through to the environment although he cannot do anything there.

In the excel my user can do everything without problems.

I begin to think it is related to an upgrade of the Net which might cause the system to crash over a space in the name, as I do not see anything else different between the users.
