Hi Experts

I have got some doubts about planning calendar. If the  factory calendar is set  with Saturday and sunday as holidays ,

is the same setting could be applicable to Planning calendar ? If so if I want to violate this , how to achieve this?

Second question is if I want to set first three days of each week as working days in a planning calendar , how to define calculation rule

to achieve this?

Thanks in Advance for clearing above doubts

Regards

Srinivas.

Hello Srinivasrao,

Planning calendar depend on the factory calendar. Whenever changes in  factory calendar, planning calendar need to be updated.

  • Again in planning calendar have some special future '

See below picture

Ex. Period fall on day which holiday in that case system provide the above option:  consider the following day, Previous day, and in "No new Period day" system not create any period and "DO not Displace" ( consider a same day) in planning calendar period.

Select one of the option as per your requirement

  • If you want to calculate the first three day as working day in planning calendar

Create the calculation rule like as below

Select the Rule : Weeks (week Days)

Enter : 1, 2,3 ( In this case system consider the every week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)

you can select any day with in week

But on particular day period fall on holiday system then system create new period with above logic

Please check and confirm the same

Hi  Umesh and Caetano

Fist of all Thank you very much for showing the interest and giving the prompt reply.

I have did calculation in the planning calendar and first 3 periods split per week are displayed as follows.

05.01.2015   05.01.2015   1        2015

06.01.2015   06.01.2015   2        2015

07.01.2015   11.01.2015   3        2015

As per my understanding first week is split with Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday as starting days with periods 1,2 and 3 and so on. But my expectation is one week per period and first three days as working days. Is this possible?

Next question is when I define md61 with this calendar , guess for the first nd second periods   mrp will consider only one day and for the 3 period system considers 5 days for the cumulative of requirements. Is my guess true?

If this is true my requirement is one week per period and system should consider first three      working  days  only.

Is this possible? If it so how to achieve?

Once again thank you very much for giving valuable inputs and sharing the knowledge which helps me in giving the better output to my client.

Regards

Srinivas.

Hello Srinivas,

1. Per week one period and Three working days per period is two different requirement,

For per week one period you can achieve through :

Per Week one period

Calculation rule:

Weekdays :

Counter week day =1

Week day = 1 ( Every week system consider first Monday, one period created for per week)

Three days per Week

Calculation rule :  Weeks (week Days)

Select 1,2,3 : system consider first 3 days per week ( Three Period created in this case)

Both are different requirement

As working days in planning calendar pick from the factory calendar. If your factory calendar have only three days working per week, system behave accordingly that

2. Yes, for second question

System consider 1 day for first two period and for last period cover all day up to next period date.

I hope this information helpful to you

Thanks & Regards

Hi Srinivas

No, the planning calendar will not override a holiday defined on the plant factory calendar. MRP will always consider the working days according to the plant factory calendar and there is no alternative to change this.

Regarding the second question, just define a weekly period and set weekdays 1,2 and 3 on the calculation rule.

See the following document for details.
