How to uninstall UAFL plugin(Lumira Server) on SAP HANA SPS 09

Hi All,

As part of Lumira Server installation I have to install UAFL plugin. I have installed the plugin as SIDADM user which should be installed as root. Now I wan't to uninstall the plugin and install again as root.

Help.sap.com has installation guide(http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/vi01/en/lumS121_install_en.pdf) but no where it mentions how to uninstall UAFL plugin.

Is there way to uninstall plugins on HANA?

Hi Raj,

Try using hdbuninst:

/<path_to_hdbuninst>/hdbuninst -b --path=<path_to_uafl_plugin>

If you have a default installation, this would be (substite in your SID and Instance #):

/hana/shared/<SID>/global/hdb/install/bin/hdbuninst -b --path=/usr/sap/<SID>/HDB<instance#>/exe/plugins/sap_afl_sdk_ual/sap_afl_sdk_ual

Does the path /usr/sap/HD1/HDB23/exe/plugins/sap_afl_sdk_ual actually exist on your system?

If the path doesn't exist, are you sure that uafl is actually installed?  You can check in the HANA studio administration console:

If the path doesn't exist and uafl is installed, then you'll need to search your filesystem to find the correct path to it, and use this path when running hdbuninst.

If the path does exist, and you are getting this error, then I can't help any further.  The command worked for me when I had to do this.

UAFL installation path exists

and I have verified in HANA studio,

But hdbuninst fails unsintalling the plugin.

After upgrading to Rev 91 I don't see the plugin, I have installed it again.

The version of UAFL that was recently released (1.301.0) now contains an "aflundeploy"  executable that can be used to uninsall the UAFL plugin.

See SAP Note 2103854 for instructions.
