I have undergone to SAP GTS (Global Trade Service) since 3 months training session and as of now I am feeling comfort with SAP Compliance Management, Customs Management and Risk Management but though I have some doubts in some areas please help me.

1. I didn't understand the SPL Scenarios i.e S1, B1 & C1 Please explain the purpose of it.

2. What is the purpose of the 'Linking Operator' field in 'Define Control Procedure for Address Comparison' IMG step

3. How TREX will help to SPL Screening

The reply for the same is highly appreciated as I am posting multiple questions at a time please.

Hi Srikanth,

1.

  • S1 screening allows you to simulate and test Business Partners against different legal regulations and customizing settings.

  • B1 screening allows you to periodically screen different business partners in production and then save the results.

  • C1 screening is essentially the same but is used only when the SPL Delta lists have been updated by an XML from the data providers.

2.

The linking operator is used to influence the SPL algorithm in Step 2 and Step 3 of the screening program

  • You use the AND operator to define that a part of an address must match in the SPL check.
  • You use the OR operator to define that at least one of the parts of the address that were activated with the OR operator must match in the SPL check.
  • If you only assigned exactly one OR operator, it is used internally as an AND operator.

This is difficult to describe, it is best to test using different linking operators with different business partners to learn how they work.

3.

TREX runs in a different server and is considered to be a faster, more accurate and more sensitive way to run SPL screening.

Best Regards,

Eoin
