stop server ECC PRD

Hello friends

I have a question, I extend the standard extractor 2lis_13_vditm, add two fields, this extractor is used for various repositories companies from various countries, this change or adjustment will be done as a requirement for a country, it is a Rollout, and i know to be do some activities when to be transported to the production environment, but my question is this you need a window of time to stop the server ECC PRD these adjustments to standard extractor 2lis_13_vditm? since detenerel server would be the Christ because it is a corporate ECC server where all companies from other countries are, or is there some other way so that it is not necessary to stop the server ECC PRD?

Hi Nando,

Generally speaking you will need some down-time or posting-free period in order to guarantee data integrity. There are certainly ways to minimize downtime.

Please see SAP Note 753654 - How can downtime be reduced for setup table update. You can dramatically reduce the downtime to distinguish between closed and open periods. The closed periods can be updated retrospectively.
