How to show monthly depreciation values of legacy assets?

Dear all,

starting in January 2014 we are running our asset accounting on SAP. Therefore, we transferred all our assets with transaction AS91 to our SAP system.

An auditor of this process now would like to see monthly depreciation values of these legacy assets for the years before the asset transfer.

With transaction AW01N (Asset Explorer) one can only see the summated deprecation ("ordinary deprecation") for the previous years. So I guess, there are no monthly deprecation values stored in any table. Is this correct?

Is there any possibility to get these data in a report, maybe via a function module?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi,

Generally legacy data you will get from your old system. So you can check your old system for details.

The auditor would like to compare the values from the old system with the values from SAP for validation.

But in SAP we only got the sum of all these values (which is correct, by the way) as the ordinary deprecation.

Hi,

According to me in SAP from legacy asset you just pass the told accumulated amount of depreciation. So if asset is of 100 Rs and 60 Rs depreciation is posted and NBV is 40 Rs. So in SAP the bifurcation of 60 Rs wont be available. The amount of 60 rs is from the calculation that is done in the Legacy System. So what you can do is that you can show to auditor the legacy system and you can compare the sum of depreciation of legacy system with the sum of depreciation passed in SAP and then auditor should be satisfied that data is correct.

Regards,

Malhar.
