Verification of Receipts by Manager

Hi All,

There is a process to attach receipts in Travel Expense Report in SAP. When the traveller completes the Travel and submits Travel Expense Report, he is attaching the receipts as well. This Receipts will be verified by Manager and then the Travel Expense Report is approved.

Can anybody suggest, is there any process to check, if the managers have seen and verified the receipts? Kindly explain the process and any config setting required.

    Hi Vijay,

    no there isn't 😉

I know this requirement/idea arises from the fact that some managers blindly click "approve" and you want to somehow make sure the manager really checked all the facts he ought to check. But this cannot be solved with technical means 😊

At the other hand, you could write an intelligent program for postprocessing, checking for plausibility of the travel facts and if a manager has approved 3 or more blatanly wrong requests/claims you could create an IT0000 of type "End of Employment" for him 😈

    Cheers, Lukas

    • You don't give up, do you? 😀

In general, yes this will somehow be achievable programatically. But you need to define the technical process first, i.e.:

      • What exactly does the manager open and from where?
      • Whats is used as scenario, UWL, POWL, Backend?
      • Does the Manager open receipts from the Generic object Servoces or is it about receipts from the PCL1 cluster?
      • Does the applicaion you use for it use a state for the action of opening these receipts or do you have to define your own?
      • Where do you store this information of the state?

..and so on and so on. This is all stuff you have to design and implement BEFORE you can think of writing a report.

This will be a lot of work, not a magical out-of-the-box solution and I doubt the outcome will justify the effort.

      Cheers, Lukas
