InfoPackage: Time-Dependent Data

Hi all,

does anybody know something about behavior of time interval data in infopackages.

We updated to NW 7.30 SPS12 (from SPS09) and know it seems that time interval selection is back on "update tab" (like in 3.x-times):

I discovered that these fields are definied as special field type in datasource in bw-system:

You can edit table RSDSSEG (fields DATEFROMFD and DATETOFD) so selection fields will be back in selection tab.

But where you can define these property in source system? Because after replication and activation fields in RSDSSEG will be set again.

We have the problem that some infopackages now have "time-dependent data"-selection on update-tab and it will be set with actual system date, if you don't overwrite it explicit.

Regards,

Christoph

Hi Christoph,

In your source system the time dependent fields should be always BEGDA and ENDDA.

For example, if you are extracting data from 0EMPLOYEE_ATTR, means that the employee (PERNR) should have some Position, Company code, Org. unit.  All these attributes can be changed based on some time.  Which is nothing but for that (PERNR) Employee start date and end date.

So based on the above criteria, if you mention Fixed time interval means nothing but BEGDA & ENDDA in the source system.  Only those records which are pertaining under your mentioned time interval should be extracted from source system.

Hope you understood.

Krishna Chaitanya.

Hi Krishna,

the meaning of time-selection is clear.

But the question I have is why the time-selection now appears in "update-tab" and where I can define content of fields DATEFROMFD and DATETOFD.In SPS09 the behavior of system was different to SPS12. The example above is not a standard extractor. But also there the content of DATEFROMFD and DATETOFD was set automatically.

Furthermore often the begindate is set with system-date automatically. But that leads to only extract a few data and not the hole time we need.

Christoph

Dear Christoph,

I am also facing same issue while loading master data for 0EQUIPMENT_ATTR.

While loading the infopackage with DATEFROM as system data, it is not  fetching all the records with valid DATETO.

Could you please let me know if you are able to figure it out how the Fixed time interval fetches the data?

Sreekanth.
