Choosing a functional module

Dear Experts,

I have been working with SAP XI/PI area with considerable expertise in this area and have implemented some projects successfully. I am now trying to pick up an functional module which would be a value addition to my career path.

Things about me:

-I do not have an functional background knowledge.

-I am not looking to pick up a functional module which necessarily close to SAP XI/PI. But something which can be easily understood by a Technical Consultant.

Things which i am considering before picking up an module:

-Good opportunities: Like the Moule should have a fair amount of demand in the market (not necessssarily be extensively used like FICO, SD).

-I spoke with some colleagues and i was suggested with SAP PM. What do you experts think about this modules suitable to me looking at my background.

-I would greatly appreciate if anyone who had a practical change in his/her career from technical to functional consultant could share their story.

Hi,

I would say it's based on your interest. Why can't you enhance your skills in SAP PO/HCI/NW Gateway?

If you are good @ above and still want to enhance your skills .I would suggest you to go for either of these SAP EP/SAPUI5, SAP Fiori UX, SAP Syclo, SAP Native & Hybrid apps development with SAP Mobile Platform (SMP 3.0).

I think best way is to ,assess your self which one suits to you based on your exp background.

I believe all the modules you have listed are technical areas. I am looking forward to grow in an functional areas. Hope you can suggest something here.

It depends on your interest in different functional areas.

If you are interested in

Finance --FICO

Sales --SD

Retails--SRM

Supply chain Mgmt --SCM

Plant maintenance --PM

-----------etc

Generally below functional modules have high demand all the time.

FI CO,SCM,SRM,SD,HR,MM.
