Restrict Dimensions/Characteristics in Query Designer?

Is it possible to do the above via authorizations? I have a characteristic 0EMPLOYEE__0COMP_CODE, and I want to prevent it from being seen by User A when he runs query designer and tries to create a query off the InfoProvider.

I then have a User B whom I want to allow him to see this characteristic when he is using Query Designer.

Is this possible?

    hi

This is visible in the query designer because at the cube level for the same characteristic navigational attribute has been marked checked.
    turn this off.
    uncheck navigational attribute .
Then go to query designer and it not appear anymore while designing any query on the cube.

    Thanks!

My users are given access to Query Designer, so I'd probably need to block the access at the MultiProvider level. They will have access to create new queries based on the MultiProviders, so 2 queries on the same MultiProvider won't work.

Thanks again for the quick reply - my requirements is that I have two groups of power users (my clients), who will be having access to create their own queries.

However my queries come from InfoProvider that has restricted/sensitive characteristics.

So I need to prevent the normal power user from seeing those restricted characteristics, and allow the advance power user to see those restricted characteristics.

      Anyone done this before?
