Hello Gurus,
We know that, In the refurbishment process damaged equipments/materials are uninstalled from a maintenance plant and transferred to material warehouse using movement type 101. Then we create a refurbishment order, GI from stores, refurbishment, GR and settlement.
I want to understand why do we need a refurbishment order at all.
Can we not do the this activity with a corrective maintenance order.
If we cant use a corrective order, then how is it different from refurbishment order.
Please give some business example.
Thanks,
Piyush
For your information
I sometimes implement other GR process with split valuation (stock without price) for repaired spare part. (not with SAP refurbishment process)
And I have not get any issue when my customer use customized simple process.
I think the SAP help already describes difference in detail.

Hello
In the refurbishment process damaged equipment's/materials are uninstalled from Functional Location not from maintenance plant and then transferred to material warehouse .
As refurbishment Order purely designed to capture cost of refurbishment and it will settled to the materials and that material cost get enhance.
In normal corrective maintenance order we have Technical object in Reference Object in this work order settlement receivers are Cost Center.Cost get accumulated on Cost Centers from work order.
