The address of the client does not follow a logical sequence

Hi all.

The street address section in master data of clients does not follow a "logical" sequence. Appears in unusual order, and is confusing for end-users.

For example, in XD03 (Customers) appears like that:

Street 2

Street 3

Street/House number

Street 4

The "logical" order seems to be:

Street/House number

Street 2

Street 3

Street 4

Please, let me know the reason for that.

It happens in XK03 (Vendors), too.

Is it possible to change the order of these fields (Street Address

section) for Customers and Vendors?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

I find it quite logical, as the order shows you exact the sequence how it is printed .

You get confused because of the numbers in field names.

For this you need to know the history, I recently blogged about it: .

In early times there was just 1 field for a street, with central address management 3 more fields got added, 2 streets (street 2+3) get printed before the old street field, and street 4 after the old street field.

Do you know if it is possible to change the order of these fields?

Thanks a lot Jürgen L

In standard not possible without modification.

But again, you are looking into it too much technically and in  field name context.

I am certain you are confusing the users much more if you turn the sequence in screen.

Why would you be the only company who uses SAP where this SAP given way of entrance cannot be adopted to the people?
