What to do? SAP AS on buntu server 64-bit

Hi everyone,

I have been set out to get a sap application server going, by my dad, and to be honest I am moving backwards instead of forwards.

I have been looking for links, files and whatever Linux related download link, that could be of any use but have not been able to find anything.

I am completely new to SAP and although my dad once worked in Walldorf he is just as helpful as a stone.

My aim is to give my dad the login for a Sap GUI, where the application server is running on a Ubuntu Server VM on my local network.

Any sort of help would be appreciated in the most basic form possible please.

Many Thanks and kind regards

    Hello Maximilian

SAP does not support Ubuntu, only Suse, Oracle Linux & Redhat are supported.

It is quite easy to install on Centos, It should also be possible to install SAP on Ubuntu... but you should consider using a supported distrib.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications
