Mobile App for SAP Engineering Change Management

Hello Everyone,

Please let me know if anyone who implemented SAP Engineering Change Management in SAP ECC 6.0 are using any Mobile App for the Approval process.

Also suggest me any mobile app which will facilitate the ECR/ECO approval process using hand held devices.Your Inputs will be highly appreciated.

I don't think we do have mobile app for ER (neither IOS nor Android).

Hi Praveen,

you are talking about classic ECR/ECO with change numbers, no Engineering Record involved, correct?

Probably not much "standard" available out there, partners from the PLM Alliance including LeverX have experience with building mobile apps on top of SAP PLM though.

Thanks for your reply.Yeah I am talking about Classic ECR/ECO process with Change Numbers.

We are not using PLM Business Suite, so there is nothing called Engineering record here.

I agree with your point there are couple of third party tools which are available to support PLM functionality but as far i have searched i found none which ideally have an App which supports the complete ECR/ECO Process.

I found many Apps related to Leave request approval, Purchase order Approval etc., but for ECR process I am still searching what best is available.

Dear Praveen,

As far as i know the ECR/ECO process is based on the SAP Business Workflow.

You are right, there are several apps for specification use cases but not suitable for your use case .

However there is the Approve Request Fiori app:

SAP Fiori Apps - SAP Library

To my knowledge this can handle all processes based on the Business Workflow.

Might require some customization but in general it should work.
