Difference between T and G type connections

Hi experts

while making a connection between sap ECC and sap PI sysem for RFC I have used T type connections while for proxy i have used G type connections

I dnt know the reason why one needs to do so

according to me both connections are  used for making the connections with the external system but what is the criteria to choose a connection between the 2 connections?

pls suggest...!

    Hi,

In Case if u need H type connection from ECC system maintain the same in SXMB_ADM IE configuration.

This Type H is estabilish the connection between two local integration engines residing in the respective ABAP stacks of both ECC and PI.

If you want to connect any external system we use RFC type T.  for this we have to use gateway service and gateway host of the external system.

    Thanks,
