hi,

see this for more information

You have to install TREX

then create index and assign datasource to it (webcontent or repository). This will enable you to search documents

For installation of TREX see this

Hi Rukmani,

have you installed TREX and indexed some documents by now?

I would worry about the Portal Header Search after you have achieved that. Before, any search UI will point to nothing.

hi,

In portal

under System Administration>System Configuration>Knowledge Management>Index Administration

Click Create and specify the properties of Index and then after creating index specify the data source which can be documents from your repository. After doing this you have achieved search functionality. you can search with the key word.

hope it helps.....

1. Go to System Admin --> Monitoring --> KM --> Trex Monitor --> Change Queue Status and Flush the queue by selecting your index.

2. Click on Display Queues and check if you the OK column has any documents which have been indexed.

If yes, then your index has started working properly.

The next step is to read about crawlers and scheduling of crawlers. Also you would want to modify the queue parameters by changing Schedule Time, Type etc.

Check help.sap.com for further details.

hi rukmani,

Search link is seen in the tools area and not in the masthead.

The tools area appears only if you have Knowledge Management (KM) installed with your portal, and if its visibility property is set to true. It contains:

1. A Collaboration link to the optional Collaboration Launch Pad.

2. A Search tool for searching Knowledge Management (KM) data repositories.

kindly check with the above.

Hello Ganesh,

Thanks for your reply.

I got the search option enabled in the tools area. The search results are not coming up. It says no results found.

I have set the indexes.

hi,

really amazing when you dont get the search results when you have done all the above steps.

Did you try with the most common words found in the datasource? Is it throwing any exception ?

Hello Ganesh,

I have created the index called ind1 with properties

Crawler Parameters : standard

service : Trex search and classification

service type : classification,search

items to index : documents

fuzziness : 0.7

searchhidden : true

and the index is active

The datasources associated with this are 4 documents.

Now in the search if i give any of the document names, it says no results found

Kindly help

Ganesh,

When i check thru Index administration, the index status is activated and the associated datasources is shown as 3

But when i check thru monitoring->trex monitor , as mentioned by sinha in the same topic, the queue status is idle. Every if i activate it, it remains idle.

Rukmani
