Import/Export of High-Availability System Based on ABAP

Hello All,

We had used SAPINST system copy import/export from source and create a targer system for central instance.

We want to apply import/export of High-Availability SAP CRM version 7.4 system  on OS Windows.

It is possible to use  SAPINST  for the same scenario  but to create the High-Availability SAP system?

Thanks for any help

Reza

Hi Reza,

Hope you are doing good, happy new year.
Yes, SAPINST does have this option. I am not sure which one you are using, but usually in ->Software Life-Cycle Options > System Copy > MS SQL Server/Oracle > Target System Installation > High-Availability System > Based on AS ABAP

or a similar drop down.

Hello Sirram,

Happy New year 2015 and thanks for reply.

I am trying to create the target system og a system copy file . The DB is mssql 2008 R2.

I will using the SWPM for this task.

The senario is the cental instance, applicatiion server and DB server are in defferent server.

So I am not sure what should I start with in SWPM. cretae DB first , central instance after at the last create the application server.

I start with cretae central instance, but during this task, SWPM did not ask for export file ( System copy file from source system).

Any Idea when I need to use the system copy files from source system in   ....>Target System Installation > High-Availability System > Based on AS ABAP

Thanks

Reza

Hi Reza

Kindly refer the Master installation guide from Guide finder link http:\\service.sap.com\guidefinder, Select the OS /DB & SAP version, you can find the right SWPM & Master guide in that you can get the Windows Failover cluster installation steps.

If you check the installation guide the sequence of the installation is clearly mentioned in it.

https://websmp208.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000877522012E

It first asks to install the "Database Instance" and then the "Primary Application Server"

The same sequence should be followed for the system copy.

Hi Reza,

Happy new year 2015.

central instance doesn't prompt for export file ( System copy file from source system),

db instance require export file.because export file contains actual data.

i understand that yours is distributed system.central instance is in one server and db instance is in another server.

1.Install central instance(required cd's swpm,kernel are main)

2.Install db instance(required cd's rdbms, swpm, kernel, export file ( System copy file from source system).

in this server install the structure of rdbms first.

as per my knowledge.

and read the Master installation guide from service.sap.com

Hi Reza

Happy New year 2015

You can use the SWPM from source HA system export and then perform same tool  in target HA system import..
