PO Attachments - Mandatory above certain value or release strategy

Hi everyone,

Hopefully you can help me as I've been searching for some time and haven't found anything yet. Is it possible to set the file attachment functionality or text entry to mandatory on a PO if it exceeds a certain value / requires a certain level of release strategy.

My example is for POs where they are for very high values and therefore require very senior approval. At that stage, the PO is usually for a specific project or contractual agreement where more detail documentation should exist and therefore that should be attached to the PO.

Please let me know if there is a scenario similar to this that might help me in this case.

Hello Sam,

As Anup has mentioned this looks to be more to do with business user discipline/ end user training than SAP customization.

Yet, if this requirement is "set in stone", it will not be achievable through configuration. You can use BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST~CHECK and write the required logic there to force the user to add relevant texts based on the release indicator using appropriate error messages.

Forcing the user the add an attachment based on release strategy at the first glance appears to be more difficult to achieve.

You can try above or check with ABAP team if they can use below user exit- EXIT_SAPMM06E_016  to put some logic... 🙂

Not sure if we can make 'Services for object' function as mandatory to have some attachment... but again system can't verify the document in any ways. For me it looks like more of business discipline to have attachment in place... alongside release strategy setup in SAP.

I don't think so the possibility of attachment but it can be done for text, kindly try the same with below Enhancement and Badi along with ABAPers.
