Document Numbering- New Number Range for new year

Dear Experts

One of my clients want to have new number range for new year i.e 2015, what ever the document post in the jan 2015 the number starts with 1. The earlier document which posted in 2014 it will continue with the old numbering series. Can any one suggest me how to solve this?

Hi,

Create separate Document numbering series start with 1 for all transactions and map the period indicator as 2015 and map the same period indicator to 2015 posting periods

From Jan 2015 new numbering series will start and update automatically.

If i post any document related to 2014 will it continue to old numbering series. For eg: PO last document no.453 in 2014, I will enter some 2014 pending PO documents in 2015 means the doc number will be 454.

Hi

Yes.  The document series will change based on the date you entered.

For Example

If you entered last financial year Po means number continued from 454.

Hi,

Yes, if you post the pending transactions of 2014, the system will pick the 2014 document numbering series if you mapped 2014 period indicator for 2014 posting periods and document numbering series

Hi

It is not overlap with previous period but if you filter the document both period number will show with respective date.
