BOE 4.1 SSO for Crystal Reports scheduling and publications

Hi,

We have setup SSO for 4.1 to SAP BW which is using the sap tokens (assertion tickets) and everything is working fine.

However, we are getting database connection error when scheduling crystal reports and running publications which includes crystal reports. The error was "Details: Logon to underlying database failed".

Webi reports which use universe are have similar issue when viewing on demand. It does not single sign on. The reports only run when a username and password is entered.

Does anyone know how to get this to work?

Hi Ambarish,

Yes we have setup SSO and it's working fine.
The problem appears when this SSO mechanism does not work when we are scheduling crystal reports and publications.

So yes I know in 3.1 SNC was the solution for this. But on 4.1, setting up SNC causes the SSO using sap assertion tickets to break.

Hi Phillip,

Are you successfully able to refresh the report and the issue is only specific to scheduling? As far as I remember there had been a BUG which required configuration of SNC/STS for scheduling purpose.

Hi Ambarish,

Okay. I might be a little obscure here.

When I mention that I've setup SSO using SAP assertion ticket, I actually mean I've setup SSO via the STS service using SAP Logon tickets and this SSO mechanism is working fine.

The issue is specific to scheduling of the report as well as publications of crystal reports with universes that does not use the SSO mechanism. And when I try so setup SNC, the SSO mechanism breaks altogether and nothing works. So I have to resolve to disabling SNC in order for reports SSO to work.

I'm running BO 4.1 SP5 which is the latest and greatest.
