Hi All,

I want MRP to carry out planning for finished product alone first and then for all BOM components. Is there a way to achieve this.

Best Regards

Hello

Yes, this is possible using MPS for the finished products.

You should set an MPS MRP type (such as M0) for all the finished products which should planned firstly.

These materials will be planned by a different set of transactions: MD40 instead of MD01, MDBS instead of MDBT, MD41 instead of MD02, MD42 instead of MD03 and so one...

Therefore, you can plan these materials separately from the common MRP materials

The components are planned later, using the standard MRP.

See the following link for more details about MPS:

Hello,

Also you can use the customer exit M61X0001 You can try with  MRP Run based on Material Type with USER_KEY like Y1 all FERT and Y2 exclude FERT like that.

Please refer to the function module documentation of EXIT_SAPLM61R_001.

Shyam,

Your scenario is illogical why you do not want to explode BOM during MRP then again want to plan them separately how you are going to plan components independently?

You can control BOM explosion during MRP by below ways but it creates inconsistency in planning.

1.Make BOM status Inactive.

2,Use explosion type which is relevant for Planning off for BOM components in item details.

3.Use Dependent requirements not planned field from MRP4.

Hi Shyam,

You can use MD03 for single item, single level MRP. Planning is done only for the Header material and if the BOM components needs to be planned, then you have to run separate MRP for them.
