  1. Hi.. Experts

My client is having lots of moulds with the different cavity , so for scheduling maintenance plan on performance of mould which is the best option for scheduling via the Single Cycle Plan or Multiple Counter plan.

For Exp :-

Mould: - M1 require maintenance after every 1000 shots  & M2 require maintenance after every 1500 shots.

Having 1000 mould with the same parameter as above.

So if I go with the single cycle plan then I need to create separate maintenance plan for every equipment….

So suggest any better way to schedule ……….

Dear Lokesh,

All this depends on how these moulds are structured.

If each mould (M1, M2, M3 etc) are created as individual equipments, then either go for single cycle plan on each of this mould.

Or you may create strategy plan on the functional location to which all these moulds are installed.

(Provided that all moulds comes under one functional location will have one strategy each).

Yes, you are counting "shots per mould" and have one or more maintenance according to that.

Multiple counter would be required if you combine e.g. #shots and #compound changes etc. so two counts on the same equipment.

-> Setup a counter per mould to record the shots

-> Setup a plan for each equipment. You can use a shared Task List

I recommend to look at Strategy plans - you can add a 2nd maintenance (e.g. small service after 1000 and large service after 2000 shots). If you setup wisely, you can also change the frequency e.g. from 1000 to 1100 by modifying the strategy instead of the individual plans.

Still you'll need one plan per equipment.

Hi Lokesh,

Using Strategy plans, you might end up with less number of plans for equipment. That will be easy for Master data maintenance and planners.

Since every mould will have its own counter, it needs separate maintenance plan.
