Hi Rag,

What is the error you are getting ? Could you provide relevant screenshots of the error.

Are you able to find more information from the instalLogs (C:\SAP\MobilePlatform3\InstallLogs) ?

BTW, latest SMP 3 run-time available is SP05.

Hi Rag,

Have you tried all the solutions provided in the discussion you mentioned?

  • Right click and run as admin
  • Check availability of the ports 8080-83; before installation you can check whether it is used by any other program using the command, netstat -a -n. It gives you the list of already used ports.
  • Turn off UAC and antivirus before installation.

Hi Rag,

Just to add to Midhun's reply,

Please check with below command where ports 8080-8083 or 8084 are open.

e.g. nestat -na | find "8083"

If you get a blank response that means port is open and it can be occupied.

Also, as you mentioned:

trying to install SMP 3.0 SP03 Mobile platform on Windows Server 2008 remotely.

Could be issue with Remote desktop connection as mentioned in this thread:

It seems like the problem was the Remote Desktop Connection. A remote connection to windows may not set the permission correctly as local Admin.

Do you think this could be the reason as mentioned in this thread ?

I will suggest you raise an OSS message.
