Error on extracting the .SAR file

Hi all,

We are trying to install SMD.

We are following steps as per http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-56226.

We are trying to extract .SAR file as per step 1.3

But we are getting an error 'incorrect command'.

Need help to move forward.

Hi,

It seems, the downloaded files were corrupt.

We downloaded the SAPCAR and the .SAR file and rerun the command.

We were able to extract the files.

Shouldn't it be sapcar –xvfz and not sapcar –xv ?

We have tried that as well but we get the same error for it.

I use the switch -xfv to extract a SAR file. For instance: SAPCAR –xvf file.SAR –R extractionFolder.

Maybe there is something wrong with your SAPCAR command. I guess that you don't have to download SAPCAR manually. It should be contained in the SAP NetWeaver kernel zip archive under: DATA_UNITS\K_741_N_WINDOWS_X86_64\DBINDEP
