"Sap QM Dynamic modification rule behaviour is not according to ISO 2859-1"

Based on ISO 2859-1 Inspection stage should be changed from "Tightened Inspection" to" normal Inspection" if 5 Consecutive lots accepted, also if 5 lots not accepted while on "tightened inspection", leads to discontinue Inspection. But in sap when we have 2 Rejected inspection lots and 3 Accepted inspection lots in tightened stage, we expect no change in quality level, but level will be changed from Tightened to Normal. Because system checks the value of "Insp. since change" field in QDL3, and considers the value as accepted lots, so leads to change in level.

How to solve this issue without Development?

Note:

In below link is mentioned that the standard system contains dynamic modification rule S01: "dynamic modification of the inspection severity according to ISO 2859-1, §9.3", but in S01 the number of rejection in tightened inspection is "1" (in ISO 2859-1 it is "5") and also no stage is defined for "Discontinue Inspection" and quality level always remains in tightened inspection however 5 lots rejected while on "tightened inspection".

Hello there is a possibility for normal inspection by creating three normal inspection and diverting the route. From Reduced to N 1(15 lot to be inspected if approved move to Reduced, if rejected move to N2), N2 (4lot to be inspected if approved move to N3, if rejected move to Tightened), N3 (11lot to be inspected if approved move to Reduced if rejected move to N2), Tightened (5lot to inspect if approved move to N1).

Reduced to normal for three consecutive lot out of 5 I'm still configuring for my end.

Hi,

Check the SAP Notes 611296 - Adjusting the sampling schemes to changed ISO 2859 part 1 and 1419673 - Updating sampling schemes ISO3951-1-2008 for further details on this.

Hi Natalia,

Thanks for your guidance, i checked SAP Notes 611296, it is about Sampling Schemes but my problem is in Dynamic modification rule. if we enter the value greater than "1" in number of rejections sufficient for a tightened Inspection, system will be confused in changig inspection stage.

I couldn't check Note 1419673, because it is not released.

Best regards.

Hi,

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I don't know if I get your question, but in this sap help link Sample, SPC

there is all settings for dynamic modification rule with ISO 2859-1.

I hope it can help you.

Hi,

Thank you Natalia, I explain my question in detail.

In Sample, SPC link is mentioned that standard system contains dynamic modification rule S01 according to ISO 2859-1, §9.3. Screen shot of modification rule S01 is as below:

According to ISO 2859-1, if 5 lots not accepted while on "tightened inspection", leads to discontinue Inspection. How can we show this step in modification rule?

I defined new step as stage 80 with description "discontinue Inspection", and entered value 5 in Rejections filed of "tightened Inspection", so Stage should be changed from tightened Inspection to discontinue Inspection if we have 5 rejected lots (as below screen shot), then we can create a report to show the current and next inspection stage to alarm about discontinue relation with related vendor (this is screen shot of my dynamic modification rule).

But if the number of rejection is 5, changing in stage doesn't take place correctly because system considers the value of  "Insp. since change" as accepted lots but this value is sum of number of accepted and rejected lots.

  For example:

While we are in "tightened inspection", if the first two lots were rejected and the next two lots were accepted, we have this situation in quality level (QDL3):

Insp. since change = 4

Not-OK inspections = 2

If we accept the 5th lot, stage changed from "tightened inspection" to "normal inspection" (Insp. since change is equal to 5 and is considered as accepted lots) and it isn't correct based on ISO.

*******************************************

Also there is problem in changing step from Normal to Reduced Inspection. Because System splits Normal stage to "Normal Inspection 1" and "Normal Inspection 2" as below screen shots:

  Case1:

While we are in "Normal Inspection 1", if 10 Consecutive lots accepted in this stage, leads to "Reduced Inspection". So Number of Ok lots to change from Normal to Reduced inspection is equal to "10".

Case2:

While we are in "Normal Inspection 1" and if we have one rejected lot, stage is changed to "Normal Inspection 2". And if 4 Consecutive lots accepted, stage is changed from "Normal Inspection 2" to "Normal Inspection 1". If 10 Consecutive lots accepted in this new stage, leads to "Reduced Inspection". So Number of Consecutive Ok lots to change from Normal to Reduced inspection is equal to "14" (4+10).

So if we split Normal inspection to two stages 1 & 2, there isn't a unique Rule to change from Normal to Reduced Inspection, in some cases Number of Consecutive Ok lots is equal to "10" and is some cases it is "14".
