Hi Experts,
When I am executing 0MAT_SALES_LPRH_HIER Data Source in R/3, it is showing “Error occurred during the extraction” error message.
This DataSource is working fine in development server and it is not working Quality and Production severs. I collected this datasouce in a transport request and transported to ECC quality system, still it is giving same error. Can you please let me know if any one of you faced similar kind of issue.
Regards
Srikanth
Hi,
instead of data source, please transfer SFW5 business functions settings(related to your data source) to Qua nd prod if you done at Dev.
seems like some business functions are activated at dev system and those may not be transfer, please check about them with your functional team.
thanks

Hi Srikanth,
Please check if the Material Sales hierarchy in the source system is correct. There might be an error somewhere in the hierarchy. You can check it in the respective Hierarchy Maintenance transaction in the source system.
Did you analyze the error log further? Are there any other (error) messages?
Best regards,
Sander

Hi Sander,
Thanks for your quick response. I checked product hierarchy by using V/76 transaction code in ecc.
Development system have 3895 entries.
Quality system have 3897 entries.
Please find the attached screenshots for your reference. I highlited 2 additional records in quality system, how can I judge weather these entries are correct or not.

Hi Srikanth,
Please try to get some additional information on the error(s):
Thanks in advance.

Sander
Hi Srikanth,
Thanks for sharing more details on the error.
I have the impression that the hierarchy contains an inconsistency. I can remember that I had a similar problem in the past due to an inconsistent hierarchy.
Unfortunately I don't have access to an SAP ECC system right now. But if I am correct it concerns the Product hierarchy for 0MAT_SALES with table T179 as product hierarchy table and table MVKE for the material numbers for sales-dependent data.
Could you validate if in table MVKE only valid hierarchy nodes are used? I don't know if there are any other ways to validate the consistency of the hierarchy?
Best regards,
Sander
Hi Srikanth,
I have two options left.
First option: investigate and/or debug why the error message is raised
Error message "Error when calling up the application function for hierarchies" should have a code consisting of message class and message no. You can do a search for the message in the source of the extractor. Alternatively, you can debug and e.g. use a watchpoint using the corresponding SYST fields (e.g. SY-MSGNO if I am right). If you are able to find where and when the error message is issued, then you probably are able to find an explanation.
Second option: reinstall the DataSource from Business Content
Recently I had an issue with a Business Content DataSource which I could not explain at all. My colleague suggested to reinstall the DataSource from Business Content and surprisingly it solved the issue.
I don't know if it will work in your case because the strange thing is that in Development it works and in Quality and Production not. That's why my gut feeling still says that it's a data issue (i.e. inconsistent hierarchy).
Anyway, it's an easy action and check again in Quality after transporting the reinstalled DataSource.
Last but not least, please also review SAP Note 1026749 - Hierarchies: Consistency check for duplicate nodes. It might give some information and hints.
Best regards,
Sander
Hi Srikanth,
I have a third option to explore. Try program RSA1HCAT to analyze hierarchy 0MAT_SALES_LPRH_HIER. You can find more information in SAP Note 483878 - Displaying hierarchies in R/3.
Best regards,
Sander
