Hi All,

We have C4C to SAP ERP scenario through HCI.

To enable basic authentication from HCI to SAP ERP we have configured required settings given in below SAP How-To guide.

How to Configure SAP HCI Basic Authentication for SAP Cloud for Customer

During testing we encountered below error in HCI.

"[org.apache.cxf.interceptor.Fault - Could not send Message.]", caused by "SunCertPathBuilderException:unable to find valid certification path to requested target."

We are trying to fix it. So please let me know your thoughts and if someone has faced similar issue, pls provide inputs.

Thanks & Regards,

Pranil.

Hello Atul,

This error could imply that the C4C SSL Certificates are not loaded into your HCI Keystore. Please load these into your HCI Keystore and then this issue should be ok.

Hi Bhavesh,

Is it required to upload C4C Certificate in HCI. What i know is we have to upload the ECC Certificate in HCI Keystore. Please let me know if this has to be done in case of basic authentication.

Hello Atul,

The error points to a SSL error when the HTTPS call from HCI to C4C Is done.

So, yes this needs to be done in the case of C4C also.

Finally - this step is independent of the authentication mechanism - i.e, it is applicable for both Basic authentication and Client Authentication.

actually root/intermediate ca certificates of c4c are to be imported into hci truststore but for c4c case thiese should be already imported. If you still see issues create an incident to lod-hci-pi-ops

Hello Pranil,

You will have to import the certificate of the HCI server into STRUST in your ERP system. The guide you referred to states the below (page 19).

"For HCI to communicate with on-premise, trust needs to be established, even when basic authentication is used. This requires exporting the server certificate from HCI and importing it into STRUST."

Hi Diptee,

Yes we have implemented the steps 5 to 19 (Pages 19 to 24) required for establishing trust between HCI and SAP ERP.

After that during testing we got the above error.

Hello Pranil,

Ensure that you have imported all the certificates viz. server and the CAs, in the correct order and if the error is still not resolved, please check with the tenant admin team.
