which has higher performance webRFC or scripting ?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering which has higher performance either webRFc or scripting. Consider a scenario where we can record screens and fetch the result from a screen and use the script. But same functionality can also be done through webRFC where we can write abap logic to get our requirement.

Which works much faster ?

Regards,

Sivaganesh.

    Hi Sivaganesh,

My experience has been that webRFC's are much faster.  The reason being, you're grabbing the data directly from the database and returning it more efficiently without the need to go through screen writes and refreshes.

    Thanks,

    Hi Sivaganesh,

It depends on the scenario. If all the data you are trying to read in on screen then it will be faster with script button, but if it required you to navigate or do screen refresh then it takes more time so webrfc is better because you are accessing directly from database. Also webrfc is good for reading values, because if you are using webrfc to write data to database when object is open for editing on screen, then you will get errors.

    Thanks
