Script button sensitivity ... is there a problem?

Some users are complaining that when they hit a button, nothing happens but if they log back out and back in again the button works .... has anybody else come across this complaint - is it a known issue that has or is being dealt with?

Regards.

Patrick.

    Hi Patrick,

Does the button work when they first log in? When they press the button and nothing happens, do they log right out of the system and back in, or just come out of the transaction and then reopen the transaction?

I ask as I had a script once that the first time I ran it, nothing happened, until I came out of the transaction and then went back into it.

For my part, after debugging the script, I found a part of the script was not working.

I then went and re-recorded the script, making sure I was in Basic View when I did the recording.

When I then applied the new script it worked every time.

So whilst this may not help you, I can only surmise that for me, either:

    a) the script got corrupted somehow or

    b) perhaps I recorded the original script within a flavor instead of Basic View, and maybe thats why it didnt work.

I stres that this is only a theory but it might help you.

I hope you find the solution,

    regards,

    Ian

I have never had this happen personally, so it is an interesting question.

I would suggest making sure that you have applied the latest cumulative patch. http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1964257

There have been several instances where something strange was happening within my flavors and applying the latest patch definitely helped fix things.

If you have the note installed already, what transaction/screen is the button located on? Does it become inactive after some other processing is done on the screen? It would be interesting to know what is happening right before the button "goes dead."

Guys - an update on this ... and many thinks to those of you who have already replied ... but just to be clear we are fully patched up - all related software (NWBC, Silverlight & Personas R2) are at the latest patch levels BUT....

It seems the issue is related to the Screen Resolution of the display.

Our client is using massive wide screen LG display units with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1080 in combination with HP computers & laptops.

At first when they go in there is no apparent issue, all buttons work, but after a short while (variable activities - no obvious pattern ) the 'GUI Windows Dimension Error' will appear.

When that error has kicked in, some of the buttons become un-reactive, i.e. they appear to work (screen goes grey momentarily) but then it comes back and nothing has happened.

I cannot recreate this issue when using a dell laptop at 1366 x 768 or when hooked up to a larger display unit with a resolution of 1680 x1050.

I would really appreciate some comments on this, maybe from the dev team - Chinthan?

I know if I raise a call with OSS they will want replication instructions which I cannot provide but if someone out there in SAP has a big screen it will be worth experimenting with.

    Any thoughts much appreciated.

    Regards.

    Patrick.
