Crystal Server 2013 hangs on setup.exe install on Windows Server 2012 R2

I am a domain admin on the server where I'm trying to install Crystal Server 2013 eval trial version on a Windows 2012 R2 server. Unzipped files and run as admin setup.exe and it just hangs. Any ideas.

Does it hang? Or is it still working in the background?

How long have you waited for since executing it before terminating the process?

Ensure you're on the right platforms. The appendix of these documents also provides minimum hardware + OS requirements.

Also, how long did you wait for it?  How much CPU and RAM is on the server?

The CRS platform requires 4 CPU cores and a minimum of 16GB of RAM in order to work properly. Also, when you run the setup, it does a couple of things prior to showing anything on the screen:

1.  Unpack all of the .cab files into an Install Cache folder.

2.  Lengthy prerequisite checks.

This might be what you're running into.

What is the exact version of Crystal server 2013, Service pack and Pacthes?

As per my knowledge, Windows Server 2012 R2 is supported for server components as of  Crystal Server 2013 SP02 and IE11 is compatible with SP3.

If you are having base version the download the latest version from SAP Market Place.
